Find internal IT

Find IT directors by company size, stack, and industry

IT and engineering are two buyers who both say technology. An IT director keeps the business running on tools somebody else built, which is a different conversation entirely.

try

Internal IT appears at a size rather than at a stage. Below roughly a hundred and fifty people somebody in operations handles laptops and accounts between other duties. Past that a real function forms, with a director, a helpdesk, and a budget cycle nothing like an engineering team's.

Industry moves that line further than headcount does. A manufacturer with three plants needs IT much earlier than a software company on the same payroll. Filter sector and size together, add what the domain shows about hosting and systems, and resolve the person only after both have passed.

Example searches

Ask for it the way you'd say it

Every search below runs on the same hosted Tables, with the cost previewed before anything is spent.

  • Size plus sector

find it directors at manufacturers and logistics companies between 200 and 1000 staff

Both filters run on the account before anything else, which keeps the contact chain off the software companies that have no IT function.

  • Systems as the qualifier

which companies in my list run their own servers rather than everything in the cloud

Hosting and server technology land as columns, so a company maintaining its own estate is separable from one that outsourced the whole thing.

  • Hiring for the helpdesk

companies that posted an it support or systems administrator role this quarter

A support hire is the clearest outside sign that internal IT just became somebody's full-time responsibility rather than a side task.

Plays

Three motions you can run this week

Each one is a chain of Oxygen primitives — the same hosted objects your workspace already has, composed.

  • Size and sector as the gate

A list where every account is large enough and physical enough to employ real IT.

    1. 1Source companies by industry, site count, and headcount into one table.
    2. 2Resolve the senior IT title, run the email column, and enroll what graded clean.

  • Support hires as timing

You arrive the quarter a company decides IT needs its own headcount.

    1. 1Bind a hiring search for support and systems roles across the accounts you track.
    2. 2Enroll only the accounts where such a posting appeared in the last quarter.

  • One list, several budget seasons

Each account is contacted in the month before its own budget is set, not all at once.

    1. 1Keep the budget or renewal month on every account as its own column.
    2. 2Let a scheduled workflow enroll each account the month before, so nothing sends early.

Who you can reach

Roles you can find at IT directors and IT managers

Reachability is per channel: a role marked for mobile is one the phone waterfall usually resolves, not a guarantee for every record.

Filters you can search on

  • Headcount band and number of sites
  • Industry and sub-industry
  • Hosting and server technology on the domain
  • Open IT and systems roles posted
  • Country and office locations
  • Seniority: C-level, Director, or Manager
  • Title keywords to include or exclude

IT people are the least visible function on this list, and deliberately so. Expect a named director at mid-market companies and a blank at small ones, where operations or finance holds the work. For this group a work email plus a public profile is the realistic route, and a mobile number rarely is.

Data sources

What the data actually comes from

Every value lands with its provider and cost recorded on the cell.

  • People Data Labs

Company and person records for sizing a business and locating whoever holds the IT function.

  • BuiltWith

Hosting, server, and platform technology detected on the domain, read as an estate signal.

  • TheirStack

Postings for support, systems, and infrastructure roles, which date the decision to staff IT.

  • LinkedIn Scraper

Profile reads used to check that a named director still sits over the estate rather than having moved on.

  • Blitz API

First attempt at the address of the group least likely to publish one anywhere, alongside the LinkedIn company read.

Run these on Oxygen's managed credits, or connect your own provider keys and pay the vendor directly — the same columns, the same runs, the same provenance either way. See every integration.

Limits

Where this stops

  • Internal IT leaves less public trace than any other role here. A blank usually means the company has no IT function, not that the lookup failed, so read it as a routing answer.
  • Domain detection shows the outward-facing stack. Directory services, endpoint management, and the systems an IT director really owns are invisible from outside the building.

FAQ

Questions people ask first

How is an IT director different from a CTO?
A CTO builds the product; an IT director runs the company on software someone else built. They sit in different budgets, answer to different people, and almost never care about the same pitch.
At what size does a company get internal IT?
Usually somewhere past a hundred and fifty people, and much earlier in industries with plants, sites, or regulated records. That is why sector and headcount have to be filtered together rather than one at a time.
Why does industry matter so much here?
Because physical operations create IT work that a software company never has. Warehouses, clinics, and factories need managed devices and networks long before their payroll suggests an IT department.
What if no IT title comes back?
Then the company has no IT function, which is useful information. Those rows belong in a different lane addressed to operations or finance, rather than sitting in the table as failures.
Can I time outreach to a budget cycle?
Yes, if you know the month. Store it per account and let a scheduled workflow enroll each one at its own time, so the same list spreads across the year instead of firing in one week.
Is a mobile number realistic for this group?
Less often than for a founder or a sales leader. The phone chain runs as its own column at its own price, so preview it on a small slice before committing the whole list to it.
