Find marketing budget

Find CMOs by budget signal, team size, and channel mix

A marketing chief with no budget this quarter is not a prospect, they are a follow-up. Active advertising is the cheapest public evidence that someone is spending right now.

try

Marketing leadership is the easiest title to locate and the hardest to qualify. Almost every company has someone holding it, far fewer are spending this quarter, and only that distinction moves your reply rate. Live advertising is a public record of a decision to pay, with a start date attached.

So the list gets built in that order. Adyntel reads the ad libraries across the major networks onto the account, People Data Labs sizes the marketing function behind it, and only then does the contact column run. The enrichment bill stays on accounts that showed a pulse.

Example searches

Ask for it the way you'd say it

Every search below runs on the same hosted Tables, with the cost previewed before anything is spent.

  • Spending, not merely staffed

find companies that have been running paid social ads for at least a month and get their cmo

Ad activity lands as dated columns, so you can sort by when the spend started before deciding who gets a first touch.

  • Team size as the gate

b2b saas with more than eight people in marketing, give me the most senior marketing title

Function headcount is a column you filter on, so a one-person marketing team never lands in the same cadence as a built-out one.

  • Chase a rival's spend

which companies are advertising against the same themes as my three closest competitors

Ad intel arrives as rows you keep. Re-run the query next month and the table shows who started and who went quiet.

Plays

Three motions you can run this week

Each one is a chain of Oxygen primitives — the same hosted objects your workspace already has, composed.

  • Rank the list by live spend

A marketing list sorted by who is visibly buying attention this month.

    1. 1Pull ad activity onto every account and keep the first-seen date as a column.
    2. 2Sort by weeks of continuous spend, take the top band, and enroll the marketing owner.
    oxygen columns add
  • Marketing team size as the gate

Two cadences instead of one, because a solo marketer and a department buy differently.

    1. 1Store the marketing headcount as a column, then save one view per band you intend to write to.
    2. 2Give each view its own opening and enroll both out of the same underlying table.
    oxygen tables views create
  • Feed the CRM a marketing owner

Accounts you already own get the current marketing decision maker attached.

    1. 1Filter the object-backed table to companies with no marketing contact on file.
    2. 2Resolve the senior marketing title, then promote only the rows you accept.

Who you can reach

Roles you can find at CMOs and marketing chiefs

Reachability is per channel: a role marked for mobile is one the phone waterfall usually resolves, not a guarantee for every record.

Filters you can search on

  • Ad networks the company is currently live on
  • Weeks of continuous advertising activity
  • Marketing headcount and its direction
  • Headcount band and funding stage
  • Industry and business model
  • Country, region, or metro area
  • Seniority: C-level, VP, or Director

Ad libraries cover the large networks well and everything else badly. A company doing its demand generation through partnerships, events, or a newsletter looks silent here, and silent is not dormant. Rank a list with the ad columns rather than cutting one, and keep a lane for budget that no library publishes.

Data sources

What the data actually comes from

Every value lands with its provider and cost recorded on the cell.

  • Adyntel

Competitor ad libraries across the major networks, written onto the account as dated activity you can sort.

  • People Data Labs

Person and company records, including how many people sit inside the marketing function.

  • Apollo

A second people source on your own Apollo account, for teams whose marketing segment already lives there.

  • LinkedIn Scraper

Profile reads that say whether the marketing lead is still there, which matters most on accounts that only just started spending.

  • Blitz API

Reads the LinkedIn company side of the marketing org, then takes the first swing at the work email for whoever came back senior.

Run these on Oxygen's managed credits, or connect your own provider keys and pay the vendor directly — the same columns, the same runs, the same provenance either way. See every integration.

Limits

Where this stops

  • An ad library shows what a network chose to publish. Regional coverage is uneven and creative can surface days late, so the absence of ads is unknown rather than proof of no budget.
  • Marketing headcount is inferred from public profiles. Agencies and contractors doing the work never appear, which makes some teams look smaller than they spend.

FAQ

Questions people ask first

Why qualify a CMO on advertising at all?
Because it is the one budget decision a company publishes. A live ad set with a start date says somebody approved spend recently, which predicts a reply better than headcount or funding stage alone.
What if the company has no CMO?
Then it usually has a head of growth, a VP of marketing, or a founder doing the job. Filter on seniority inside the function and let the table report the title it found rather than forcing the acronym.
Can I see which networks a company is on?
Yes, per network, as separate columns on the account row. A company buying search and a company buying paid social are usually solving different problems and deserve different first lines.
Does this replace an ad spy tool?
It puts the same public library data next to the contact, the cadence, and the reply instead of in a second tab. The intel becomes rows you own and can re-run, which a standalone tool cannot give you.
How do I avoid writing to the same person twice?
Dedupe on normalized domain before any enrichment runs, and keep a workspace suppression list every cadence checks at enrollment. Both happen before spend, so a duplicate costs neither a lookup nor a send.
What is the spend on ad intelligence?
It is a metered column like any other, drawn from the same pool where $1 is 1,000 credits. Preview the run on your filter set: the estimate names each provider leg so you can drop an expensive one first.
