Find organizations

Find nonprofits by cause, budget band, and grant signal

Nonprofits are easy to find and hard to size. Filings are public and two years old, so the fresh evidence is the website, the job board, and the campaign page.

try

Budget band is the number everybody wants and nobody can get quickly. What you can read today is staff size, program count, geography, and whether an organization is hiring or running a campaign. Those four together sort a list far better than a stale filing ever will.

Open Web Ninja returns organizations with a physical presence, Exa searches the pages that describe programs and campaigns, and People Data Labs supplies staff counts and leadership titles. Blitz API opens the contact chain for named directors, with LeadMagic behind it.

Example searches

Ask for it the way you'd say it

Every search below runs on the same hosted Tables, with the cost previewed before anything is spent.

  • Cause and geography

environmental nonprofits in the pacific northwest with more than twenty staff

Cause language is read from the programs page, so an organization that never uses your sector's vocabulary is still caught by what it does.

  • Hiring as a budget signal

nonprofits currently hiring a development or communications role

A funded role is better evidence of spending capacity than a filing from two years ago, and it arrives with a date attached.

  • Development leadership

find the executive director and the development director at each organization

Both titles resolve on one organization, which matters because one owns the mission and the other owns the budget conversation.

Plays

Three motions you can run this week

Each one is a chain of Oxygen primitives — the same hosted objects your workspace already has, composed.

  • Cause-based segments

One list becomes four causes, each addressed in language the reader recognizes.

    1. 1Read programs pages into a column and classify against the cause definitions you wrote.
    2. 2Tag the result so every later sequence inherits the segment.

  • Hiring and campaign timing

You reach an organization in the weeks when money is actually moving.

    1. 1Watch job postings and campaign pages so each change arrives as a dated event.
    2. 2Enroll only where the event names a program your product supports.

  • Two contacts per organization

The mission owner and the budget owner each get a message that fits them.

    1. 1Resolve the executive director and the development lead onto one organization.
    2. 2Run separate cadences with shared suppression so one reply stops both.

Who you can reach

Roles you can find at nonprofit organizations

Reachability is per channel: a role marked for mobile is one the phone waterfall usually resolves, not a guarantee for every record.

Filters you can search on

  • Cause or program area
  • Staff count band
  • Geography served
  • Open roles posted
  • Donation or campaign platform detected
  • Volunteer program present
  • Year founded
  • Chapters or linked locations

Organizations with a website and paid staff resolve well. All-volunteer groups and very small charities often have one page, a contact form, and no named staff, so expect a long tail that returns an organization and nothing else. Filing-derived budgets lag by a year or more.

Data sources

What the data actually comes from

Every value lands with its provider and cost recorded on the cell.

  • Op

    Open Web Ninja

Listings for organizations with an office, a program site, or another public location.

  • Exa

Search across program, campaign, and annual report pages where the current work is described.

  • People Data Labs

The organization as an employer, with staff counts and named leadership titles.

  • Blitz API

Work email for executive and development directors, read from the organization's own profile.

  • LeadMagic

Development leads at small charities where the only published route is a donations inbox.

Run these on Oxygen's managed credits, or connect your own provider keys and pay the vendor directly — the same columns, the same runs, the same provenance either way. See every integration.

Limits

Where this stops

  • Budget bands derived from filings lag by a year or more, so this page treats staff count, hiring, and campaign activity as the current evidence and the filing as history. Never quote a budget figure you have not checked.

FAQ

Questions people ask first

Can I filter by cause area?
Yes. Program pages carry the language that matters, and reading them into a column catches organizations whose formal category does not match the work they actually do.
Are budget figures available?
Only from filings, which are old by the time they publish. Use staff count, open roles, and campaign activity as the live proxy, and label any filing number clearly as historic.
Who is the right contact?
It depends what you sell. The executive director owns direction, the development lead owns fundraising tools, and the operations manager owns anything touching the day to day.
Do very small charities appear?
They appear as organizations, often with nothing more than a contact form. Keep them in a separate segment rather than letting them dilute a list of staffed organizations.
Can I see whether they are hiring?
Yes. Open roles are collected as dated events on the organization, which is usually the clearest available sign that funding exists and a decision is close.
How do I keep the list fresh?
Re-check leadership on a schedule. Nonprofit turnover is high, so a contact verified eight months ago is frequently the wrong person, and a refresh cycle catches it before a send does.
